About the Instructors
Ms. Kristina
Big Arms Swimmers is so lucky to have Kristina, a natural
over achiever. Kristina's spunky personality combined with
incredible patience, make her a favorite with the kids in the
water. During the non-summer months Kristina goes to
school at UC Berkeley where she is studying for a degree in
Media Productions.
What Kristina loves about swim lessons "I love being able to
help kids and know that I am doing something real
everyday!"
Mr. Grant
We are so pleased to Have Grant Bergfeld with us this
summer.  Experience grant definitely has as he is an avid
swimmer who began competition swim at Natadors in his
early childhood and swam through high school on varsity.
He began water polo his freshman year and through his
dedication and love of the sport made Varsity for the
following the years. He excels not only in the water, but
academically, and has been accepted into Irvine Valley
College where his future will find him studying classes in the
psychology field.  Grant brings a love of the water to his
clients, with his aquatics background and psychology
knowledge allows him to be one of the top instructors
around.
Mr. Ryan
Ryans' one who knows how to make the little kids adore
him. After obtaining a bachelor degree from Cal Poly San
Louis Obispo, he currently is enrolled in UCI's graduate
program to obtain a masters in education. Ryan has been a
natural fish his whole life, as he was a member of his high
school swim and water polo program. In his free time, Ryan
enjoys going to the beach and enjoying the sun and surf.
Mr. Loren
What a swimmer!  Big Arms Swimmers is so lucky to
have this great talent and wonderful personality as a part of
our team this summer.  As a competitive swimmer and water
polo player in high school, Loren learned discipline and
focus in the water as well as friendship and teamwork.
Currently at Orange Coast College, Loren is working on a
move to Santa Barbara to attend UCSB in the hopes of
attaining a psychology degree.  He aims to use that degree
to become a child psychologist, combining his studies with
his love for kids.
In his off time, Loren loves to ride the waves, surfing at
the beach.  He says his favorite part about swim lessons is
“seeing the pride on kid’s faces when they improve.”
Miss Ashley
Ashley has a deep love for kids and the stage. As a
swim instructor her bubbly, upbeat personality attracts all
the kids to adore her; yet her stern hand allows for some
incredible progress. She has a magical touch of
incorporating fun that enhances the learning experience.
Her love for kids has inspired her to pursue a career in the
classroom as an elementary teacher. She begins a Master’
s in Education program at San Diego State in the fall. Don’t
forget to ask her about her recent star performance on
stage as Belle in Beauty and the Beast at the Starlight Bowl.
Ms. Ashley’s favorite thing about being a swim instructor
is getting wet and making a long term impact on her kids’
lives. She looks forward to giving them an unforgettable
swim experience in the pool.

Ms. Beth
Beth is the official voice of Big Arms Swimmers! The
summer wouldn't be the same with-out Beth's friendly voice
over the phone taking with clients and organizing the
calendars. She is currently in the process of obtaining a
masters degree in fine arts from UCI's graduate program in
the spring of 2011. Her warm personality and attention to
detail make her a fit for the offices of Big Arms Swimmers.
Mrs. Marina
Marina was born and raised in sunny Southern
California and has lived in San Clemente since she was 10.
In one short summer, little Marina (age 4) went from being
horrified of the water to participating on swim team! As she
grew up, she played water polo and swam at Capo Valley
High which made for some funny/memorable experiences in
the pool.

Now she attends Westmont College in Santa Barbara
and is studying for a degree in Business/Economics. This
summer she looks forward to teaching proper technique
and showing kids how much fun swimming can be!
